It is with regret that we, along with St Mary's Church, have come to the decision to cancel this year's Christmas Concert. This has been a blow to us all, as we expected this to be out first public performance since the start of the pandemic and we have been rehearsing many new pieces of music. However, we reluctantly came to the conclusion that cancelling the event was the most responsible thing to do, given the increasing number of Covid-19 cases in the area, combined with the return of 10-day self-isolation, which has the potential to disrupt the Christmas plans for orchestra and choir members, as well as our audience.
This concert normally raises over £1000 for the Wayside Club Centre in Glasgow, whose primary purpose is to help meet the needs of the city's homeless. Their work continues despite the pandemic. Please consider visiting their website and making a donation this Christmas time. http://www.thewaysideclubcentre.co.uk
We hope that rehearsals will continue after the Christmas Break, where we will focus our efforts on the Scottish Concert Band Festival in March, and hopefully more.
In the meantime, keep an eye on our website and social media channels where we will share some festive recordings soon!
