"Moment for Morricone" at Scottish Concert Band Virtual Festival

Posted by Carluke Primrose Orchestral Flutes on

Normally in November, several weeks of rehearsal would culminate in the Scottish Concert Band Festival regional qualifiers. However, this year the event was unable to take place due to the ongoing coronavirus restrictions.

In response, the SCBF ran a "virtual festival" with a stream of recorded perfomances followed by an adjudication.

CPOF are pleased to have come "together" with recordings from our own homes, with a performance of Moment for Morricone. This is a medley of some of Ennio Morricone's greatest movie themes. We felt this was timely due to Morricone's passing in July this year. This was a completely new arrangement by CPOF conductor Emma Kennedy.

We are delighted that adjudicators Hughina Naylor and John Maben awarded the virtual performance with a "Gold" award.

Huge thanks to Emma, Paul and Hayley for pulling the audio and video together so wonderfully.
