Carluke achieved their best ever score at the 106th Glasgow Music Festival on Sunday. Under conductor Jon Hargreaves, the Primrose played an excerpt from Jon's own arrangement of Greig's Holberg Suite at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. The adjudicator placed Carluke first out of the four ensembles playing in Class 240, awarding 90 out of a possible 100 points. A score of 90 or over is given for "an exceptional performance both technically and artistically"; and this is the first time that Carluke have achieved this.
This puts the orchestra on a great footing before their first venture to the National Finals of the Scottish Concert Band Festival in Perth next week.
Unfortunately we were unable to film our performance in the Concert Hall, so click here to see the video of movements I & IV from our rehearsal before we headed into Glasgow.
