New Lanark Flute Day with Flutes Unlimited

We were delighted to have made our first venture out of the rehearsal hall this spring time! On 24th March we, along with our friends at Flutes Unlimited, joined forces for a "Flute Day", held at the Institute in New Lanark.

The day kicked off with a Warm Up from Andrea Kuypers which included stretches and breathing techniques. We then rehearsed together CPOFs choice of Moment for Morricone and then Flutes Unlimited's choice of Lamasery Jigsaw by Gareth McLearnon.

After lunch, our session continued with each group performing to the other. CPOF performed The Marriage of Figaro, Concerto de Aranjuez and Encanto and Flutes Unlimited played The Great Escape and A Lad, a Love and a Lassie. We finished the day off by performing together the two pieces we rehersed earlier in the day.

We would like to say thank you to Andrea and Flutes Unlimited for joining us. It was great to get back to performing in person together since our lockdown collaboration of You've Got a Friend.

We are already planning a joint concert and look forward to playing together again in the future, hopefully with an audience next time!
