The orchestra were delighted to have been invited once again to St Marys Church in Lanark on Sunday evening, for our annual joint Christmas concert.
As always, it proved to be a hugely enjoyable and successful evening, with both the choir and the orchestra performing at their best. The concert culminated in a joint performance of O Holy Night.
The concert also included a performance of Mussorgsky's overture Night on the Bare Mountain, which was dedicated to Hughie Crosbie. Hughie led the Primrose between the 1970s and 1990s, taking us to our first ever contest victories but we were saddened to learn of his death earlier this month.
Together we raised a fantastic £1,286.76 to help homeless people, with all proceeds donated to The Wayside Club in Glasgow. We’d like to extend a huge thank you to all who came along and were so generous. We’re sure this donation will make the Christmas season a little brighter for some of the country's most vulnerable people.
